Car insurance marketing trends
A thought about South Africa's car insurance landscape struck me this morning. Circa two years ago, when the economy was booming and the words 'credit crisis' weren't on anyone's mind, car insurers in particular were going with the "We're the Rolls Royce of car insurance" approach. As the economy cooled however, their messaging increasingly reverted to price as a primary market driver - switch and save became the motto. Paying lower premiums for your car insurance is fine - but be sure to check that your excess and levels of cover stay consistent, and are appropriate to your needs. You do not want to be under-insured!
